Schools of future are adopting more innovative and hands on teaching where experiential learning plays a major role. ThinkWorks Learning brings in 3D printing in schools as a tool to integrate and enhance subject learning and also add on a skill of the future which will lead the next technological revolution. ThinkWorks Learning has integrated this with the boards of schools and have developed a progressive curriculum for classes 3rd-12th.
Today’s school children have a highly intuitive mind which can be moulded like clay to any desired shape. It is this stage that marks the onset of creativity and innovative spirit. Kids never analyze things, they just do them. 3D printing provides them with an insight to think beyond all boundaries of imagination. It liberates them to create things rather than imitate or copy. They can 3D print objects they can imagine and decide its feasibility on their own, without having an adult to tell them if they are being unrealistic. This promotes healthy and educative learning.
Also, 3D printing in school enables access to desired samples and segments that ensure student’s better understanding of their subjects. It makes the monotonous lectures interesting by including a pragmatic approach towards them. Students are enthralled by such activities which help in making schools a more desirable place. Especially in India, where opportunities are high but awareness is low, 3D printing is an asset that can revolutionize the technological finesse and innovative spirit of budding students, who are indeed the country’s future. 3D printing technology holds unprecedented potential in boosting the morale of students and harbouring their interests in technology, which is significant for all young minds.
Skill for Future: – 3D printing is a technology which has huge potential for future in every possible domain and technology driven schools have started adopting this as part of their regular curriculum. 3D Designing is the critical phase of 3D Printing and also one of the significant skills of the Industrial Sector. So, students will learn the future skill and experience the digital world at a young age.
Practical Hands-On Learning: – In this new era of learning, the key feature of Education would be hands-on learning. We have designed curriculum in such a way that it involves maximum hands-on activity in every session for students.
Develops core skills with physical experience: – The core skills that we provide are visualization, problem solving, critical thinking, creativity and subject integration through physical experience.
Let’s take an example, while designing a house in a software, the students will only be able to design, if he is able to visualize each part correctly. And while dealing, it is increasing their visualization power & creativity.
Students learn how different 3D printers work, its operation & its troubleshooting. During this, they were made to think about how to solve the problems. This can be translated into how they are solving real life problems. So 3D printing makes it possible for every student to dream better and bigger.
Enhances student engagement: – Each task assigned to the students is a group activity, which lets students to work in a group and while accomplishing the task the care has been taken that each member has contributed to it. This develops team building and also make students aware the importance of working in groups for completion of project
3D Printing is going to have a profound impact on all of us, whether you consider yourself a designer or not. In future, there will be 3D Printers which can print a three dimensional structure out of a living cell. Any complex structure can be created like a blood vessel or skin tissue. The whole organ can be built with the 3D Printers and that too with your own genetic cells, so you won’t have to find the donor of the organs anymore.
3D printing is going have huge impact in healthcare, Construction, Aerospace, Logistics, etc.
